Asia-Pacific passenger traffic recorded 4.2% increase in February 2014

Passenger traffic in Asia-Pacific increased by 4.2% in February 2014 while the Middle East sector recorded a 8.4% increase year-on-year.  Year-to-date results for the first two months of 2014 showed an increase of 7.1% in Asia-Pacific and 9.7% in the Middle East.

Beijing (PEK) was the busiest airport in February 2014, handling 6.3 million passengers and Chiang Mai (CNX) recorded the highest year-on-year growth of 16.9%.

For air cargo, Asia-Pacific airports recorded 3.4% increase and the Middle Eastern airports registered a 4.7% increase in February 2014 comparing to same month last year.  Year-to-date result was 4.0% higher for both sectors of the region.
