Discover the Specialties of the German Regions in the New German Food Tour, Berlin

You can eat Italian, Chinese, Thai or Greek in Germany in many places. But once you are in Germany, wouldn’t you rather try the typical German cuisine? The German Food Tour is the first food tour in Berlin focusing on German food. And German food has much more to offer than Schnitzel, Wurst and Sauerkraut.

In Berlin there are restaurants of nearly all German regions, such as Bavaria, Baden, Hesse, Thuringia or Brandenburg. Sometimes they are hidden and not located in the main tourist area. A new food tour company started in July, 2014, The German Food Tour , leads to four typical restaurants in the nicest neighborhoods in the center of the city. In each place the customer can try the specialty of the region plus a German beer or wine. The tour features four German regions. In every restaurant there is a snack and a typical drink like German beer or German wine. Juice or mineral water is also available.

All restaurants visited are small, sometimes family businesses; there are no chain restaurants. The tour lasts two to three hours, during which you will learn all about German cuisine by the knowledgeable guide Dirk Engelhardt. The customer will receive inside tips on the best restaurants in town.

The amount of food equals a normal dinner. To end the tour customers will receive homemade German cake, such as Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, cheese cake or fruit cake. There are options for vegetarians.

The price of the tour is 60 Euro, all included. The majority of the tour will be done walking. The walking distance between the restaurants is usually 5 to 10 minutes. If one restaurant is too far away, public transport is used .The tours take place, rain or shine. The maximum size for a group is twelve people. The tour is Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 6 pm, all year. Starting point is Kollwitzplatz in Prenzlauer Berg.
