New direct flights between Vladivostok and Vietnam

A new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that paves the way for direct flights between Vietnam and Vladivostok.
VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“VietJet”) has signed a MOU with Vladivostok International Airport in Eastern Russia, to operate direct flights from Vietnam to Vladivostok.
Vietnam is known to be a popular travel destination for tourists from Russia who flock to the country for its beautiful beaches and magnificent cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City throughout the year.
In addition to planning new routes linking Vladivostok to popular destinations within Vietnam, VietJet is also looking to expand its network within the ASEAN region. The airline is currently in position to offer travellers from Russia, connecting flights to Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand) and Seoul (South Korea). It will soon add Siem Reap (Cambodia) to its list of international routes within the region. VietJet currently operates 21 domestic and international routes.
VietJet recently celebrated surpassing the three million passenger mark since the beginning of the year, resulting in a 182% increase in capacity year-on-year. The airline which has a fleet of 15 A320 Airbus aircraft, has carried a total 7.4 million passengers across more than 18,500 flights, since the start of its operations in December 2011. These figures were released at a preliminary business review held at Ho Chi Minh City’s Opera House on 23 August 2014.
