York Pass Launched for Easter

york
Easter visitors to York can take advantage of over thirty visitor attractions, tours and special offers in the city’s new-look sightseeing card – the York Pass. Businesses from across the city, from hotels to restaurants, pubs to visitor attractions have joined forces with Visit York, to offer a fun-packed sightseeing card like no other. Re-launched this week, new artwork for this fun leisure pass incorporates images of Guy Fawkes, a Viking, a Roman, steam trains and chocolate as well as York’s infamous highwayman Dick Turpin.
Visitors can buy a one, two or three day adult or child pass and prices start at just £36.00 for an adult and £20 for a child. New attractions included in the Pass this year are YorkBoat and the Walled Garden at Scampston. By buying a two-day Pass for £48, visitors can make significant savings; for example visiting seven of York’s most popular attractions saves £29.70.
The York Pass will be the first city sightseeing card of its kind, incorporating innovative new mobile technology combining QR codes and city centre Wi-Fi connection. Passes can be bought at the Visit York Information Centre at 1 Museum Street, or online at www.yorkpass.com. Top name tour operators will also be selling the Pass such as Expedia, Superbreak and Viator.
The York Pass is the only city sightseeing card in England outside of London and since first developed in 2003, Visit York has sold over 150,000 passes. Last year the Pass generated 69,703 additional attraction visits to the city with an average of 5.8 visits per pass. Thirty one attractions in total are included within the new-look Pass; twenty two in the city centre attractions and nine in North Yorkshire.
Elaine Moss, Marketing Executive for the York Pass said, ‘Our city sightseeing card enables us to promote many of York’s hidden gem attractions as well as those that are better known. This means visitors get to know something different each time they visit and it offers fantastic value for money.’
