Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM Opening Forum reveals a 52% increase in Latin millionaires before 2020



Event brings together over 450 international luxury travel brands to meet over 450 elite Latin American agents

The opening ceremony for the sixth edition of Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM on 03 May revealed a forecasted increase of 52% in LATAM millionaires alone before 2020.  The ceremony profiled decision makers and influencers from the world of exclusive luxury travel, as well as trend setters and opinion leaders such as Brazilian journalist Pedro Andrade, who facilitated the event.

Simon Mayle, event manager for Travelweek commented "We are the relationship builders, simply bringing like-minded people together."  Pedro Andrade then encouraged the attendees to "take advantage of being with people motivated by similar goals during Travelweek" and "share their ideas, passions and luxury travel trends."

Laetita Abraham of global lifestyle trend analysts WGSN highlighted current luxury travel trends including the current 'TEDification' of travel: thematic travel, exclusive experiences and personal excitement, based on the TED talks concept.  She highlighted wellness and social media as key influencers in luxury travel, above all encouraging those present to "love what you do and pursue perfection as much as you can."

Among the brands, resorts and experiences taking part in Travelweek São Paulo by ILTM 2016 are destinations including Colombia, Portugal, London, Maldives, French Polynesia, St. Barths and St. Martin.  Celebrations, in particular weddings abroad and active travel as well as birthdays and family reunions are a common theme as this is a "significant market for high end Brazilians" according to Mr Mayle.

Travelweek São Paulo by ILTM runs until Friday 6 May 6, generating over 19,000 meetings between luxury travel agencies and suppliers to promote relationships and business opportunities, focussing on the Brazilian and Latin American markets.
