payexpo mena2016
Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has been announced as a Host Partner for PayExpo MENA, and will welcome global experts coming to Dubai to discuss the revolutionary changes in smart transport ticketing. Transport Ticketing MENA forms part of PayExpo MENA, which will bring together over 1000 senior decision makers to discuss innovations across the payments sector, during a two-day summit being held from 5-7 December.
The Middle East and North Africa are in a growth phase for transport ticketing and there are some exciting initiatives that are moving many countries in the region. Transport Ticketing MENA will examine the most pressing topics facing the industry - from smart ticketing integration and the introduction of mobile ticketing to forming sustainable multi-operator partnerships and interoperability.
“In Dubai, RTA has achieved great successes in our drive to establish Dubai as a smart payment city, and we are delighted to partner with PayExpo MENA in order to share our achievements and also learn about other advances and initiatives,” says Khaled Abdul Rahman Al Awadhi, Director of RTA’s Automated Collection Systems. He adds, “With innovations such as the nol smart card that lets consumers pay for travel on the metro, buses, water buses and Dubai Tram, we are proud to say: RTA is leading the way in this region and beyond.”
Transport Ticketing MENA will be addressed by key experts from across the world. Mr Al Awadhi will give latest updates in his keynote session - ‘the view from public transport: what a smart payment city looks like in Dubai.’
Delegates will be able to learn from the experiences of transport operators in Bahrain, Afghanistan, South Korea, Makkah and Egypt in a half-day session on 6 December, sponsored by NXP Semiconductors.
In addition, delegates will learn how one of the world’s most tech advanced countries supports a country with significant infrastructure opportunity; hear a case study on the progress of smartcards for smart ticketing in Bahrain, gain insight into mobile ticketing on the Nile and gain an understanding of the challenges of Makkah.
Complimentary delegate passes are available for those involved with specifying payment solutions for transport operators.
