The very fact that the tourists to China had risen by 60% from 7,11,800 last year to 1.14 million this year indicates that the success of the tourism sector of Malacca has been phenomenal. Over two million Chinese tourist are expected to arrive in Malaysia the following year, with the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel agents aiming for four million.

One of the grandest theatres known as Impression Melaka is also expected to be ready in the year 2018. Once it is completed, it would also be a major driver for growth of tourist arrivals in Malaysia.

Out of the 12.74 million tourists who visited Malacca this year, about 7.29 stayed in homestays and hotels as compared to just 6.84 million in 2015 that marks an increase of 6.5%.

In the year 2018, the number of overnight tourists and also the hotel occupancy would soar.
