Very soon, Punjab government will be structuring a tourism policy, as confirmed today by the Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu. Places of religious, cultural and historical importance in the state will be identified to convert those spots into centers of key tourist attraction.

He further illustrated that the tourism and cultural affairs department is enthusiastically working to frame the tourism policy that would be declared anytime soon.


Sidhu also mentioned that the state has immense potential in terms of tourism, which needs to be further developed.
The department is slowly taking steps to process of developing various tourism circuits, including religious, maharaja, Mughal and Sufi. Side by side, it will assist visitors to select a circuit of their own choice and visit the spots included in it, the minister said.


He also added that spots of tourist interest will be beautified; harnessing the tourism probability would bolster the economy of the state and generate scores of employment avenues for the youth. Sidhu also organized a meeting with the officials of his department in order to discuss various ways of putting Punjab on the map of global tourism.
