Arizona has been witnessing the arrival of long-term residential tourists from Canada setting here during winter for about four to six months, offering a massive boost to the economy of Arizona, as per the latest findings from the Canada Arizona Business Council (CABC).

Glenn Williamson who is the founder and CEO of CABC said that these Canadian tourists generally come and relish a certain period of time without having to worry about the ice and snow and possess the economic opportunity to do so.

These tourists own or rent about 100,000 homes and condominiums in wealthy cities in Arizona.

Williamson stated that about 94% of all the international houses in Maricopa County are owned by Canadians. During their stay here,  these people had spent approximately $3,500 per months totaling about $14,000 throughout their time in Arizona, as per CABC.

Williamson said that most Canadians were lured to this part of the world mainly due to the beautiful weather of Arizona.

He added that in the fifth largest city in the U.S. and the accompanying cities, tourists from Canada, especially, enjoy a unique kind of life. He feels that interesting activities like golfing, apart from the presence of manifold entertainment options and restaurants greatly influence the mindset of tourists from Canada who prefer this region.

Williamson specified that Desert Mountain, Scottsdale, Apache Junction and Yuma are some of the main areas that attract long-term tourists.

A large number of Canadian tourists are also influencers in many other industries and have a considerable impact on businesses based in Arizona.

He mentioned that Canada represents the largest foreign direct investor in Arizona both from residential real estate to commercial real estate. He also revealed that Canada invests as much as $2.7 billion in the commercial real estate industry in Arizona.
