Concorde 2 developed by NASA is set to solve the problems of super-sonic flight and vastly increase the speed of journeys abroad.

It is estimated that the plane will be able to cover the distance between New York and London in just three hours. This could be used more broadly halving the time spent in flying other journeys.

NASA is known for sending rockets to space but it could also quicken your next holiday too.

Sonic boom was a major problem with such planes, majorly known by the original Concorde and it would happen when a plane reached supersonic speeds.

Concorde was earlier banned by the Congress as it was commercially not viable, it produced thunderous noise upsetting people on the ground, disturbing livestock, leading to physical problems to materials and houses underneath.

The plane can fly upto 55,000 feet-far higher than normal planes and make a sound of 60 decibels, lesser than the 90 decibels thrown out by Concorde and is in line with a car on the motorway.

The technology has been tested in wind tunnels by the space agency and it could now be commercially applied.

Peter Coen, project manager for NASA’s commercial supersonic research team mentioned that it will be accepted by the general public at large and if the team gets approval there will be full-sized versions of the planes to be tried by 2022.
