Norwegian Cruise Liner has unveiled its new ‘Meet the Winemaker Cruises’.

In fact, the full series was revealed in the season of the first ‘Winemaker Dinner’ that was conducted on Norwegian Escape cruise and featured the president of Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana, Antonio Hidalgo.

The other noted dignitaries and winemakers who would be present at the event comprise Aarón Sánchez, TV chef and James Beard award winner; Gerard Bertrand, Languedoc-Roussilon and Salvatore Ferragamo, heir of luxury Italian fashion house and owner of Il Borro winery, Michael Mondavi, founder of the Michael Mondavi Family Estate and Bill Whiting, director of wine education at Banfi Vintners.

Mark Kansley, senior vice president of Hotel Operations for Norwegian Cruise Line said that since Michael Mondavi’s past visits aboard their cruise ships, they were delighted to leverage this concept with an aim to offer their guests a golden opportunity to get up personal with some of the most reputable experts in the winemaking industry.

The new program actually represents an expansion of the cruise line that attempts to tap into the retail wine travel sector after it had entered into a partnership with the family of Michael Mondavi.

Thereafter the very first wine bar of the cruise line, ‘The Cellars, a Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar was established in the year 2015.

The Norwegian series is scheduled to carry on with its Dawn and Norwegian Escape cruises from this year onwards till 2018. The cruise passengers aboard these vessels would be able to avail some great opportunities to interact with the experts and winemakers and also participate in an open-forum question and answer session as well as purchase wines on board.

A wine tasting and educational seminar would also be hosted at The Cellars .

The event would be exhibiting hand-picking wines by the winners.
