New Orleans will get world’s biggest cruise

New Orleans will get the largest cruise ship this season. It will be world’s biggest cruise ship.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s 4,000-passenger Norwegian Breakaway will begin its sailing from the city in November 2018.

Norwegian Breakaway is weighed around 145,655 tons. It is the 16th largest cruise ship in the world, and this will be the largest cruise vessel ever to sail from New Orleans.

Norwegian Breakaway will move to New Orleans from the Baltic Sea. It will spend the summer of 2018.

Norwegian Breakaway will remain in the city through April 2019. It is operating a series of seven-, 10- and 11-day cruises to the Western Caribbean.

The ports of call for the vessel will include Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; Roatán, Honduras; and Harvest Caye, Belize.

The announcement of Norwegian Cruise comes just five months after Royal Caribbean Cruise’s announced the news it would resume cruises from New Orleans in late 2018 after a three-year absence from the city.

Royal Caribbean Cruise is sending its 2,050-passenger Vision of the Seas to New Orleans.
  
It is also sailing out of New Orleans are two ships from the Carnival Cruise. The 3,652-passenger Carnival Dream and 3,143-passenger Carnival Triumph will be the next attraction.

New Orleans is now the center for the riverboats that cruise the Mississippi River, one of the popular tourism attraction.
