Boeing announced an agreement with Cathay Pacific Airways to support its 747-8 freighter fleet through the Boeing Landing Gear Overhaul and Exchange Program.
Through the offering, Cathay’s 747-8 freighter fleet, representing 14 aircraft, will receive fully overhauled and certified landing gear as well as AOG coverage.
“Boeing values its relationship with Cathay Pacific Airways, and we are pleased to support them through a comprehensive alternative to managing 787-8 landing gear internally,” said David Longridge, vice president of Commercial Services Sales, Boeing Global Services. “This service provides a simple and economical solution for our customers to manage landing gear overhauls.”
Through the program, landing gear that needs to be repaired or overhauled can be exchanged for another set of certified landing gear from a pool that Boeing maintains, eliminating the need for customers to contract, schedule and manage the overhaul process.
Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific offers cargo service to 46 destinations through the operation of 20 Boeing 747 freighters, including 14 747-8 freighters and six 747-400 extended range freighter.

WoodSpring Hotels, the nation’s fastest growing extended-stay hotel company, announced the grand opening of WoodSpring Suites Miami Southwest. The hotel, owned by Gold Coast Premier Properties, LLC, will be operated by Overland Park, Kansas-based Hotel Management & Consulting, LLC (HMC). The hotel is located at 16055 SW 117th Avenue, Richmond Heights, Fla., 33177.
The four-story, newly constructed extended-stay hotel offers 123 suites in three room layouts. As with all WoodSpring Hotels, each room has an in-room kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, two-burner stove top and microwave. WoodSpring Suites locations are pet-friendly and offer free wireless Internet, vending machines and guest laundry. The Miami Southwest hotel is smoke-free and offers guests an expanded lobby space, complimentary coffee and a fitness center. Gold Coast Premier also plans to complete seven more WoodSpring Suites in the south Florida area

Canopy by Hilton has collaborated with pet products maker Planet Dog to create Paws in the Neighborhood, a program offering amenities to hotel guests' pets. The program will debut at Canopy Washington D.C. The Wharf, and pet owners can expect a welcome gift full of goodies like locally-sourced treats and a dog-friendly neighborhood guide.
