BEL OMBRE, MAURITIUS -- The Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort has revealed sensational dining options and a fun-filled program for kids for the period 19th December to 4th January. Late bookers are lucky. Some rooms are still available for the festive season at the beachfront resort in the south of Mauritius. The festive holiday program is open to local residents as well as resort guests.
Guests making a late holiday booking can expect the perfect Christmas and New Year setting, ‘ready to go’. For example, on the dining side, they can enjoy a lavish Christmas Eve gala menu at the colonial-style Plantation Club, with Yuletide carols, music and camaraderie to match the delectable scallops, spiny lobster, sea bass, and guinea fowl preparations.
In a sophisticated gourmet gala event on New Year’s Eve, Executive Chef Geert-Jan Vaartjes and his team will prepare spectacular charred langoustine, monkfish, glazed veal, and loin of lamb, along with other delicacies at The Plantation Club.
To bring in 2018 in style, there will be a musical band, live entertainment, fireworks at midnight and a New Year Party with the DJ at Bar Bleu.
Outrigger has entertainment to match the food throughout the festive period: guests will be regaled with Creole jazz bands, chill DJ sessions, carols on the beach, local Sega dancing, and fire shows.
Guests who appreciate gourmet moments can also opt for champagne breakfasts, farm-to-table dining, jazz brunches, lobster specials, beach barbecues and fresh oysters with white wine on the beach.
Activities for Adults and Kids
As part of its festive program, the Outrigger in Mauritius has arranged two weeks of activities such as water polo, aqua gym, abs sessions, yoga, beach volleyball, basketball, beach soccer, and bocce ball.
Families are central to Outrigger’s festive fortnight. The full children’s (ages 3-12) program includes looking for Captain Hook’s treasure, kids aqua gym, water bucket relay games, face mask workshop, outdoor cinema, disco time and mini Olympics, to name a few highlights.
