On December 29 2017, International Airlines Group (IAG) announced plans for a subsidiary of Vueling to buy assets of the Austrian airline NIKI, which was formerly part of the Air Berlin group, for 20 million euros and provide liquidity to NIKI of up to 16.5 million euros. Following the opening of NIKI insolvency procedures in Austria on Friday, IAG and Vueling have been in discussions with both the Austrian and German administrators and continue to follow developments closely. They believe that there is a desire from all parties involved for the process to be resolved quickly.
Huge Gas leakage in hotel area of Central London causes 1500 evacuation
The busy area of the Strand near Central London became chaotic after a gas leakage was discovered at around 3 am, causing panic to the locals and the tourists visiting the place, which is a popular hotspot for restaurants, shops, nightclubs, pubs and hotels. The revellers at nightclub Heaven described “chaos” as they were forced to leave the venue and vacate the area in central London. More than 1500 people were evacuated closing the Waterloo stations and Charing Cross.

Air Seychelles hosts long service awards ceremony
Air Seychelles hosted a special awards ceremony to recognise long-serving staff for their contribution to the airline.
