All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest and only 5-Star airline, and Juneyao Airlines, Shanghai based airline established in 2006, announced the launch of codeshare and frequent flyer program partnership, starting from March 25, 2018.
Through this partnership, ANA aims to leverage its important gateway Shanghai, and offer its passengers seamless and convenient connections to regional destinations in China.
For ANA, this will mark the first codeshare and frequent flyer partnership with a Star Alliance Connecting Partner (*1).
Juneyao Airlines currently operates mainly to local destinations in China and to cities in neighboring countries. In order to expand its network, the carrier became the first Star Alliance Connecting Partner in 2017, and now aims to further expand its reach into Japanese regional areas through the new partnership with ANA.

2. Frequent Flyer Program Partnership
Starting March 25, 2018 (*2), this frequent flyer program partnership will allow members of the ANA Mileage Club and Juneyao Air Club members to earn miles and redeem them to book award trips on the partner carrier’s flights.
(*1)The Connecting Partner Model allows regional, low-cost or hybrid airlines to link to the Star Alliance network without having to become a full member. For customers this gives access to additional travel options beyond the current 1,300 airports served by the Alliance’s 28 member airlines.
