Designer stalwart Philippe Starck designed a unique 14-storey hotel in Metz in France exclusively for Hilton’s Curio Collection.
And most notably, the house on top of the structure is fantastic. This design for Maison Heler Metz was unveiled by Starck, the Mayor of Metz Dominique Gros as well as the Hilton Group.
This is the first hotel in Europe that is entirely designed and created by Starck from the ground up that would seat in the freshly developed Quartier de l’Amphitheatre.
The designer states that it is inspired by the Centre Pompidou Metz like a ‘habitable, surreal and poetic work of art’ and he is hopeful that it would soon turn into a strong symbol for the region.
Starch then went on to add that the project represents an out-of-scale phantasmagoric architecture.
He also feels that it is a game about uprooted roots that is a symbolic construction of Lorraine. The monochromatic and monolithic building would be topped by an 18th century traditional Alsatian home. The house is planned in a way that it would be based on a rooftop terrace amidst a garden that is peppered with local trees.
And also there would be some spectacular views, private meeting spaces and a gym.
The 119 guest-rooms and suites would be in the main building. And the house would boast of a ‘poetic restaurant and lounge bar, private meeting spaces and a gym. Curio Collection of hotels of Hilton portrays over 50 hotel brands that were selected for their character and unique personality.
